Celebrating the Sanctity of Life with Lanterns of Love and Hope

This year Born 2 Care for the Community celebrated Sanctity of Human Life Day a little later. The event planned by management was an evening of Lanterns of Love and Hope for Life and was set to be held on the 7th of February. The evening of the 7th was unfortunately postponed due to rain to the 21st of February which also turned out, to management's dismay, a rainy day.

13 April was rather late than never, but as the weather forecast for the day was clear, all the preparations went ahead. NG Delmas-Wes Church loaned us their band and we set up on Delmas Primary School's Rugby Field that afternoon and handed out lanterns and sang songs of praise while we waited for the sun to set. When everyone had arrived, including the moon, Pastor Wouter van der Merwe from the Lewende Woord Delmas Church opened in prayer and scripture. He also related that life is indeed precious and that besides taking a stand as a community against abortion, we as a community need to support those faced with crisis pregnancies and shine a light in the lives of others

The evening was MAGICAL and everyone who attended left with a special feeling in their hearts! Thank you to all who attended and contributed in making this evening such a wonderful success especially M Henriette Shortt and NG Delmas-Wes Church's Band!

"O LORD my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them." - Psalm 40:5
